Why will I need to verify my age?
Countries across the world are enacting laws requiring websites that host adult content to verify the ages of the people accessing their sites.
In short, websites like DudesNude are going to have to verify that everyone using the site is over 18.
Currently:
- Over half of all US states have either passed or proposed laws requiring age verification to access websites that host pornographic content.
- France, Germany and the UK are enacting similar requirements. A court in Paris ruled just the other day that internet service providers must block access to pornographic websites that don’t enact age verification.
- The EU has already required three of the world’s largest porn sites to enact age verification under its Digital Services Act.
- Australia may start blocking websites from search results in 2025 if they fail to enact age verification.
As well as these proliferating laws, both Visa and Mastercard have introduced rules requiring websites to have age verification in place to access adult content. And it’s impossible to do business online without bending to that Visa/Mastercard duopoly.
So, whether we like it or not, age verification is coming for all adult websites, DudesNude included.
How does age verification work?
Generally speaking, age verification is carried out by a third party, not by the adult websites themselves. Users have to verify their identity through a service such as Ondato 5, Shufti 4, or id.me 5.
This provides a secure and discreet way to verify that you’re over 18 without having to give sensitive information to porn sites directly.
DudesNude 2.0
Whether we like it or not, this is the only way sites like DudesNude are going to be able to do business in the future, so we have decided to build this into DN 2.0 right from the start.
Other websites already do this (eg, Bateworld). The rest will be obliged to follow suit.
There are positives!
DudesNude already has an optional verification system, and verified profiles let you know the guy behind that profile is who he says he is.
With DN 2.0, every profile will be verified by one of these third-party services to prove they’re over 18, which will also mean it weeds out any fake profiles, scammers, and bots.
Just real profiles showing real photos of real guys – which is what DudesNude has always been about!
